Frequently asked questions
Are these PDF tools really free?
Yes — every PDF tool here is free with no signup, no ads, and no per-file limits. Processing runs in your browser using WebAssembly, so we don't pay for server compute and don't need to charge you.
Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?
No. All compression, merging, splitting, rotating and conversion happens entirely on your device using JavaScript and the pdf-lib / pdf.js libraries. Your file never leaves the browser tab.
What's the maximum PDF size I can process?
There's no hard limit set by us, but very large PDFs (200 MB+) may slow down your browser since everything runs locally. For best performance, we recommend files under 50 MB.
Why does the compressed PDF sometimes look different from the original?
Compression re-renders each page as a JPEG, which is why scanned and image-heavy PDFs shrink dramatically. Pure-text PDFs compress less because they're already efficiently encoded.
Can I use these on mobile?
Yes — every tool works in mobile Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. For very large PDFs, a desktop browser will be faster.
